Minecraft Dungeons II Enchanting

Enchanting returns reworked. Enchantment books found while exploring unlock effects into a personal library, and the Enchant Smith villager applies them to gear. Enchantments level up to 3, points can be refunded by disenchanting without destroying the item, and the blacksmith rerolls special effects with echo shards.

Enchanting in the first game was a roll of the dice at the end of a mission. Dungeons II turns it into a library you build deliberately. The flow, as Mojang demonstrated it: find enchantment books during exploration, unlock their effects into a personal collection, then have the Enchant Smith villager write the ones you want onto your weapons and armor.

The four pieces of the system

StepWhat happens
Find booksEnchantment books appear as exploration rewards and unlock unique effects
Build the libraryUnlocked effects join a personal collection you keep, not a per-item gamble
Enchant at the Enchant SmithThe villager applies library effects to your equipped gear
UpgradeEnchantments can be leveled up over time, with level 3 as the top tier

The achievement list confirms the ceiling and the ambition: one achievement for upgrading an enchantment to level 3, and a harder one for having every equipped weapon and armor piece at level 3.

Disenchanting: points come back

The Enchant Smith can also disenchant: remove all enchantment points from an item without destroying it. That single change fixes the first game's most annoying trap, where putting points into the wrong piece of gear felt permanent. Experiment freely, refund, and redirect.

Rerolling gear effects at the blacksmith

Separate from enchanting, the blacksmith handles the random bonus effects that drop on gear. Hand him echo shards and he rerolls those special effects, so a great weapon with a useless roll is a project rather than salvage. Upgrading existing gear through the blacksmith is cheap relative to the power gained, though the blacksmith's ceiling stays below the best wild drops, so hunting still matters. Gear, talismans and artifacts.

What is still unknown

⚠️ Unconfirmed. No official enchantment list has been published. Names, effects, point costs and per-level values are not yet documented anywhere authoritative. This page deliberately lists none.

The knowledge that exists today is structural: books feed a library, the Enchant Smith applies it, level 3 is the cap, points are refundable. It sits alongside the rest of the equipment changes rather than replacing them. When Mojang publishes the enchantment catalog, this page becomes a table instead of a description.

FAQ

Do I need enchantment points to enchant?

Yes: characters earn enchantment points by leveling, and those points power enchantments on gear. Disenchanting returns the points for reuse.

Where is the Enchant Smith?

In Brave Haven, the town that replaces the first game's camp, alongside the blacksmith and the other merchant villagers. Inside Brave Haven.

Can every item take every enchantment?

Compatibility rules per item type have not been published. The library model implies effects target specific slots, but treat specifics as unknown until the official list exists.
